Summary of China's Lighting Industry Export Data in H1 2025

According to data from the General Administration of Customs and the China Association of Lighting Industry, the export situation of China's lighting industry in the first half of 2025 showed certain fluctuations and differentiation.

From January to June 2025, the total export value of China's lighting products was approximately 25.8 billion US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 6%, accounting for about 2.4% of the total export value of mechanical and electrical products. However, the export value in June performed well, reaching about 5 billion US dollars, an increase of 7% from the previous month.

In terms of products, from January to June, the total export value of electric light source products was about 2.8 billion US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 11%, but the export volume increased by 6% against the trend, reaching 12.6 billion pieces. Among them, the export volume of general lighting electric light sources was about 8.2 billion pieces, a year-on-year increase of 34%; the export volume of LED electric light sources was about 7.4 billion pieces, a year-on-year increase of 37%, accounting for 90% of the export volume of general lighting electric light sources; the export volume of LED module products was about 4.2 billion pieces, a year-on-year increase of as high as 77%.

In terms of regions, from January to June, the export value to the United States was about 5.2 billion US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 16%, of which the export value to the United States in June alone was about 1 billion US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 10%. The export to the EU showed a growth trend, with a total of about 4.9 billion US dollars, a year-on-year increase of 4%. From January to May, the export value to countries along the "Belt and Road" was about 10.4 billion US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 4%.

These data not only reflect the changes in demand and competitive pattern of the global lighting market, but also provide a reference for Chinese lighting enterprises to adjust their strategies, enhance product competitiveness and explore more market opportunities.
